Well Hello There,
Its been a while.
I have been up to A LOT to say the least. Where shall I begin?
November has been a remotely productive month. Halloween kicked it off with a bang, and I've been running around ever since.
My Birthday was on the 18th - I turned 21 - finally legal XD - Not that that stopped me much before, but, hey, at least I dont have to worry about a fake ID anymore. I got a brand new MacBook Pro, which has become my new musical instrument, and soon to be my new studio - I'll have Photoshop by week's end, and then I will be able to begin updating my gallery again - Yay!
Ive been writing up a storm.
The Midnight Masquerade has been completed and is in the storyboarding/ lining process. I will soon be supporting that mini-series exclusively to get it done - than I may pick up Dead Moon again.
The Midnight Masquerade will consist of Six Episodes, sixteen original characters, and seven different macabre scenarios - basically, an idea I had a long time ago, finally brought to fruition, regarding my ideas about Halloween/ All Hallow's Eve/ Dia de los Muertos/ and All Saint's Day.
As for Vampires, it seems the pop culture hurricane has come to my neck of the woods.
I picked up Twilight, as my entire family seems to have an obsession with it, AND, I enjoy it. Dont know why there are so many horrible reviews out there..
Ive also seen four Vampire flicks in the last two weeks - Lost Boys, Interview with the Vampire, Twilight, and Queen of the Damned.
Lost Boys is a great film, I had never seen it and thouroughly enjoyed the acting, setting, and plot - it was very well executed in my opinion.
Interview with the Vampire is a classic book, and a great film - wish I could say the same for Queen of the Damned. IwtV's cast is phenomenal, and they portray the characters of Anne Rice's tale flawlessly...although, Tom Cruise makes a shitty Vampire in my opinion, and Lestat for that matter - Why cant they cast a good Lestat? Tom makes the Lestat of QotD look like a little bitch however.
The plot was convoluted, the acting was horrible, and the pace of the film was choppy as hell - and like I said, Lestat. Really? Read the books "The Vampire Lestat" and "Queen of the Damned" seperately - the events of both books were the basis for this horrible film's plot. The one redeeming thing in this movie was Aliyah's performance as Akasha - though, one great performance surrounded by a slough of douchebaggery doesnt work. Sorry.
Twilight is a good movie, a semi Chick-flick, but a good watch. I dont know about day walking Vampires though...just doesnt seem right. I will have to see New Moon for the werewolves.
And of course, it'd only be appropriate if I was listening to something Vampire related- Vampire Weekend's new single has been stuck in my head since they released it, check out my Youtube link above and give it a listen - and if you've yet to hear there other stuff - check it out!!!
Later!
